OOO, out of office for today. I’m heading to N. Ecija in about an hr, I just woke up so I need to fix the things I need to bring. I’ll be driving and there’s no internet connection for me there so I’ll try to plurk through PHPlurk or twit.

I have this topic on my phone’s notepad for quite sometime already but haven’t had the time to actually write something about it. It crossed my mind one night while arguing with one of the parentals.

I think babies shouldn’t be called newborns because it’s misleading.

1) Parents think they own them or something. Like you owe them your life (the baby’s) but it’s not like you asked to be born in the first place. Well, it was their decision to mate and give off an offspring right?

2) If there are newborns, how come there are no old borns?

3) It often contradicts what happens to the baby since when you say new, it translates to everything being new for the baby too. But most often than not, that’s not the case. Most parents think, ok they don’t actually think about it, but what happens is that the babies either continue on the path of the parent (dude, the parents raised the kid, that’s his/her environment, for some, for just about a decade, for some a lifetime) or the parent somehow do something or lead the child into a path which the parent wants to take (not necessarily that the kid also want it) but did not take before.

So, why do you call babies, newborns anyway?

If you didn’t notice, yes, I have a lot of angst in me right now.

I just realized something, and I mean I just realized and had to post it this moment haha. I realized that one thing you can notice when I’m drunk is that I express my “super duper love” for something or my “super super hate”. See, when I say I love this place aaaaa lootttt and had too much to drink, I’m drunk. When I’m cursing at you over silly things then I’m drunk too.
